Privacy
Cookie & Advertising Notice
What the Service stores in your browser today, and what must change before advertising technology is added.
Last updated: October 9, 2026
1. Current position
The Gaming Inbox currently uses essential account cookies and a small amount of browser storage for choices you request. It does not currently use third-party advertising cookies or a third-party analytics tracker.
This Notice will be updated before any non-essential advertising or analytics technology is activated. Where consent is required, that technology will remain off unless and until you opt in.
2. Essential cookies
- Session cookie: keeps an approved member signed in, protects the session, and expires automatically. It is set with security protections such as HttpOnly, Secure, and SameSite where applicable.
- Authentication-state cookies: short-lived values used to complete Twitch or email sign-in safely and reduce forged requests.
- Owner or administrative security cookie: protects restricted account-management functions where enabled.
- Language cookie: remembers English or French across requests.
3. Browser storage
Local storage remembers the selected day or night theme and interface language. These settings stay on that browser until changed or cleared. They are not used to follow you across unrelated websites.
4. Embedded and external services
Trailers use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain and load only after you choose to play a video. YouTube may then receive connection and device information under its own privacy rules. Deal and retailer links do not load a retailer inside the Service; the external site receives information when you choose to open it.
Browser push notifications use the push service built into your browser or operating system after you grant permission. You can revoke that permission in the browser or device settings and can change notification categories in The Gaming Inbox.
5. Future advertising
The Service may later show contextual ads, which can be selected from the page or general location rather than a profile of your behaviour. If interest-based advertising, cross-site tracking, or another non-essential identifier is proposed, we will identify the provider and purposes, request valid consent where required, and provide an easy persistent way to refuse or withdraw consent.
Gaming-taste inferences, private swipe history, email address, and private library information will not be sold or used for targeted advertising without a separate, clear change to this Notice and any consent required by law.
6. Your controls
- Use the site controls to change language, appearance, and notification categories.
- Use browser or device settings to block or delete cookies, clear local storage, or revoke push permission. Blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in.
- Contact privacy@thegaminginbox.com with questions or to withdraw a consent that cannot be managed through the Service.
