Copyright & Rights Policy

How to report material that you believe infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, or another right.

Last updated: October 9, 2026

1. Respect for rights

The Gaming Inbox expects members to post only material they have the right to share. Game artwork and metadata are displayed under licences, permissions, or applicable law and remain subject to the rights of their respective owners.

2. Sending a notice

Send a rights notice to legal@thegaminginbox.com. A complete notice should include:

  • Your full name and reliable contact information.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work, trademark, personal information, or other right at issue.
  • The exact URL and enough detail to locate the challenged material.
  • Why you believe the use is unauthorized or unlawful, and your relationship to the rights holder.
  • A statement that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act for them.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

3. Review and action

We may request more information, preserve records, remove or restrict material, notify the member who posted it, or forward the notice as required by law. We will consider fair dealing, licences, public-domain status, misidentification, and other relevant circumstances rather than treating every allegation as conclusive.

4. Response or counter-notice

If your content was restricted by mistake, write to legal@thegaminginbox.com with the URL, an explanation of your rights or authorization, supporting information, your contact details, and a signed statement that the response is accurate. Restoration depends on the circumstances and applicable law.

5. Abuse and repeat infringement

Knowingly false notices or responses may have legal consequences. Accounts that repeatedly or seriously infringe rights may be restricted or terminated. This process does not replace any notice-and-notice, court, regulator, or law-enforcement process required by Canadian law.
